Putting chicken broth in salad dressing is a little weird but this Low Calorie, Low Fat Garlic Basil Vinaigrette is delish at only 27 calories and 2g fat.

The short story behind the making of

Low Calorie Low Fat Garlic Basil Vinaigrette

Chicken broth in my salad dressing?

    Are you nuts?

While you might think putting chicken broth in your salad dressing is a little weird, it works. This Low Fat Low-Calorie Garlic-Basil Vinaigrette is really delicious; the chicken broth adds a “meatiness” to the dressing and keeps the calories down.

    Way down.

Down to only 27 calories and 2 grams of fat per serving!

And remember,  when dressing a salad you don’t have to use all the dressing, just enough to “kiss” the greens, not drown them.

You can use this dressing on any salad you want, but it's particularly good on a hearty salad, with lots of veggies and some grilled or poached chicken breast.

    A low-fat, low-cal lunch or dinner.

And unlike many no or low-fat dressings you can buy, this one has no added sugar or carbs.

Store any left-over dressing covered in the refrigerator for up to a week.

What is a serving size. Your recipe does not indicate it. Is it 2 Tablespoons as with most salad dressings. Please advise. Would like to make it for a dinner this weekend. Also, I am assuming one could substitute vegetable broth for the chicken broth. Thanks,
      Linda

Yes, I'm sorry that wasn't in there, but 2 tablespoons is a serving (although I generally use less than that per, but it's accurate for the recipe). Vegetable broth would also work, although the flavor may change slightly, and may be for the better. Veggie with veggies. Let me know how it works out. Cheers
