LindySez: I cooked my roast in a 6Qt round slow-cooker that it fit snugly into. If you have a lot of additional room, you may need to add more liquid. If you don't have a slow-cooker? No problem. Heat the oven to 225°F. Place your pork butt or shoulder with the rub into either a deep Dutch oven or an aluminum roasting pan. Put the lid on the Dutch oven, or cover the roasting pan tightly with heavy-duty foil and place in the oven for about 6 hours, or until the pork is tender. Check after 3 hours to ensure that there is adequate liquid, adding more if necessary. Then proceed.
